Long Beach Neighborhoods

DOWNTOWN Long Beach features  a multitude of offerings including shops & restaurants, tourist attractions & hotels, a thriving business community and a booming residential revival.  The Waterfront district, West Gateway and the East Village Arts District, as well as the Pine Avenue & Shoreline Drive shopping districts all combine to lend Downtown a vibrant cosmopolitan feeling.

EAST VILLAGE ARTS DISTRICT (DOWNTOWN)  A dynamic mix of  people from all cultures, income levels and backgrounds populates this eclectic area featuring a growing arts and entertainment scene.  Housing styles range from highrise condos to craftsman cottages with everything in between.  Free Village Tour D'Art shuttle visits neighborhood hotspots.

HUNTINGTON BEACH  Eight miles of scenic beachfront are the pride of this 195,000-strong community known as 'Surf City'.  A recreation Mecca, Huntington Beach is home to a thriving tourist industry that attracts over 11 million visitors anually. 

SEAL BEACH  Situated between Long Beach and Huntington Beach on the Pacific, this community of 25,000 prides itself on its small-town feel.  Home to Leisure World, a mega-complex for seniors, Seal Beach also boasts the US Naval Weapons Station.

NAPLES  Located on Alamitos Bay, Naples' three islands are criscrossed by picturesque canals. A major thoroughfare is Second St, a popular shopping and restaurant destination for the area, where a large fountain acts as a focal and meeting point.

CALIFORNIA HEIGHTS  Named by Sunset magazine as 'Best Neighborhood in the Western United States', this historic district founded in 1922 during an adjacent oil-drilling boom features classic California Bungalows, plus Tudor & Spanish Colonial Revival homes.  'Cal Heights' (as it is affectionately called by locals) has been designated a zoned Historical District by the city since 1990.

BIXBY KNOLLS  Located just north of Downtown, this affluent older neighborhood features an abundance of luxury homes on large scale lots.  Adjacent to Virginia Country Club and Rancho Los Cerritos. 


WRIGLEY HEIGHTS  One of Long Beach's signature communities established in 1905, this charming tree-lined neighborhood acquired its name from William Wrigley, the founder of the spearmint gum empire.  Rich in historic homes, the area boasts stunning examples of Craftsman, Spanish, Tudor and Traditional architecture.
