Los Altos is a neighborhood located on the east side of Long Beach. It is a quiet residential neighborhood with shopping at the Los Altos Shopping Center, where one can find a Borders Book Store, Target department store, a Sears department store, a Bristol Farms, and many other shops and stores. Minnie Gant Elementary School and Stanford Middle School are located in Los Altos. The Los Altos YMCA is located on Bellflower Boulevard and The California State University at Long Beach is in Los Altos.

Los Altos also is known for its family oriented atmosphere. People outside are often found to be taking family bike rides and walks under the heavily shaded streets. There are two freeways within a short drive, providing easy travel to distant locations. Closeby Long Beach Airport links it nationwide.

Los Altos is bounded by Clark Avenue on the west, Studebaker Avenue on the east, Interstate 405 and Willow Street on the north, and CSU Long Beach on the South. Its borders meet with Whaley Park and the Traffic Circle area on the west, El Dorado South on the east, East/Eastside Long Beach on the north, and Park Estates and CSU Long Beach on the south.
